business card on the cheap

Well hello. Long time no see.

Just so you know, I have been staying strong with my Project 365 Take 2 but I have decided not to post every picture on this blog since I post them on facebook and flickr anyways. But, since I have not posted anything in a while, I thought I would give you a quick look at my homemade business card made for practically no money at all.

Don’t misunderstand me, when a business card is done correctly by a designer and printed using proper techniques, they can be truly amazing and beautiful. But when you are poor like me and just looking to get your name out in the real world, you may want to opt for something cheap like this. These “cards” are printed on super cheap velum sheets from officemax using my home printer and cut out by hand. I printed my name and info on the front, then mirror imaged my logo and printed it on the back so it would ghost through the velum. If I wanted, I could print 800 of these guys for just over $6. not too shabby huh?

sorry im super lazy folks. here is an update finally and i want to apologize in advance about how boring my life through picture is.

18. we made dr.pepper floats. a true sign of a good night.

19. lauren was working on her fun little journal project where she maps out all of our future trips. it may all be wishful thinking but you can tell she enjoys it.

20. i finally brought my guitar back out. its been far too long since i played the same 3 songs over and over.

21. we’ve had this snow globe for a while but for some reason i got really intrigued by it again and thought it would make a decent picture.

22. went to erins place. chilled wit the kids while the girls did girly things.

22b. had to get both the kids in here.

23. lauren made me super epic brownies. im actually eating one as i write this.

16. lauren and i are reading a book together like a couple of dorks. hence laurens face in this picture.

17. lauren made an amazing dinner but i forgot to take a picture before we ate it all. so instead i took a picture of my 10 o’clock snack. i do love cereal.

13. lauren and i built the world on our coffee table. we are all powerful, feel our wrath.

14. lauren and i partook in delightful game night with some friends and I completely forgot to take a picture while we were there so instead i documented our very out of the way drive home

11. the wife and i drove to some random orchard in terrel where they make their own homemade strawberry and peach ice cream. the only problem with this whole plan was that we currently reside in texas which has a heat index equivalent to hell. also, its really freaking humid so my ice cream stood no chance.

12. lauren bought this awesome print off of etsy.com and surprised me with itwhen i got home from work. and of course i am a huge dork and i love quirky things like this so its going to fit right in here at our tiny little home.

only a matter of time

i knew it would only be a matter of time before i failed to post every day. my excuse this time is simple: i was tired yesterday. i still took my picture but i was in no mood to edit/post it. i’ve made up for it today though so quit complaining

work. then dinner with the wife and erin in uptown dallas. lauren snagged this picture of the passing trolley car. thought it was fun.

not much happened today. closed at work tonight. thought i would show off my homemade hippie hemp necklace and half beard in this one. yes my day was really THAT interesting.

love frames

so my talented wife is current taking a break from the working world and with all of her free time she has been beautifying our apartment. the love frames are her most recent creation and i think they turned out quite nicely.

not a whole lot went down today. erin and jennifer b. came to visit which is always fun. lauren went to a baby shower in belton. i watched futurama most of the evening. i think it was a day well spent.

Crate & Barrel birthday dinner. super fun and the wife finally got to meet the crew. also, erins face is amazing haha!

laundry day

today was a little crazy. started off selling $4,000 worth of patio furniture to some random woman then consulted and sold a complete bedding set to terence newman of the dallas cowboys. then laundry. yeah i know, strong finish to the day right?

QuickTrip…my downfall

we do love going to the QT convenient store. thanks jason for introducing me to another thing i dont need. i dont drink these frozen treats but i have to admit the selection is a little overwhelming.  i opted for cherry root beer b-t-dub, in case you wanted to know
